What this is, and what it is not

This guide assumes you are starting with a single box truck, usually rated under the weight that requires a commercial driver’s licence, and it combines the federal rules that apply everywhere with Colorado’s own rules on top of them — including the state’s own weight threshold for what counts as a commercial vehicle, which is not the same as the federal one.

It is not a filing service and it is not legal advice. Every figure is cited so you can read it yourself at ecfr.gov or leg.colorado.gov. If anyone tells you something that contradicts what you read there, the regulation wins.
